He also participated in the school’s spring musical, is a Student Ambassador and is a leader on the school’s football and basketball teams.

Kilimanjaro last summer to raise funds for the More Than Me Academy in Liberia. Gidh is the senior head of Baldwin’s More than Me Club, which is working on raising $20,000 by the end of this school year to sponsor one of the 19 schools in Liberia. In her sophomore and junior years, she presented research in the health and medicine category at the Montgomery County Science Research Competition, and last year finished third, moving onto the Delaware Valley Science Fair, where she won the Harrisburg University Science and Technology Scholar Award. Episcopal Academy's Jessica Hao is Main Line Student of the Week - Oct. 14, 2018 To read the article on Episcopal Academy's Jessica Hao click here The EA senior is one of two inaugural Lilley Fellows at Episcopal. Her project and research (bacteria-induced atherosclerosis) is focusing on furthering her understanding of the causes of atherosclerosis and the potential of whole foods to reduce the risk of heart disease. Hao was inducted into EA's Cum Laude Society Sept. 20, was recently named a National Merit semifinalist and was Magna Cum Laude in the National Latin Exam. She is president of EA’s Bio Olympiad team and finished second at the 2018 regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition. Hao is an accomplished pianist (has played for 11 years) who was invited to play at the Lincoln Center through the 2016 American Fine Arts Festival and is a multi-year Scholastic Art & Writing Award winner in the Philadelphia region. Villa Maria Academy's Anna Rago is Main Line Student of the Week - Oct. 7, 2018 To read the article on Anna Rago click here The Villa Maria Academy junior received Outstanding Achievement Awards in both science and math (algebra) and was recently nominated for the Liberty Museum and TD Bank’s Young Heroes Award. In college, she wants to study urban planning and nonprofit management with a focus on international urban planning and has taken an online class with a college in Singapore called Future Cities. Last summer, she traveled to Malawi, Africa (the third-poorest country in the world), for 18 days to work with Pamoza International, whose mission is to unite people in alleviating suffering and despair through Christian outreach and sustainable community development in the areas of education, entrepreneurship, agriculture and health. Rago has organized several fundraisers at Villa Maria for Pamoza International.

He also runs track for Haverford School and participates in service activities, including Special Olympics, the Peanut Butter and Jelly Club and Rowan Homes Tutoring.

Shipley's Zach Cahoone is Main Line Student of the Week - Sept. 23, 2018 To read the article on Zach Cahoone click here The Shipley senior and a Science Olympiad Club member finished in third place in the Fermi Questions competition and seventh in the ecology competition at the 2018 Science Olympiad Pennsylvania State Tournament last April. He is a co-founder and leader of the school’s engineering club and a debate club captain who participated in an impromptu speech competition at the 2018 Pennsylvania High School Speech League championships. He also is the president of the school’s investment/predictive analytics club and plans to major in computer science in college.

Villa Maria Academy's Ava Marie Donatucci is Main Line Student of the Week - Sept. 16, 2018 To read the article on Ava Marie Donatucci click here The Merion Mercy Academy senior is vice president of MMA’s student council in her fourth year on the council. She is a member of the honors chorale, glee club, Sirens of Baggot Street (a capella group) and liturgical music group. She is a member of National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society and serves as an executive board member for Ro Kappa, Merion Mercy’s National Social Studies Honor Society. She is a member of the Spanish club and Mercy Works, a service club. She also is a board member and the coordinator for student volunteers of a foundation called Michael’s Giving H.A.N.D (Handling Anxiety Navigating Depression). Her family created the Michael’s Giving H.A.N.D. foundation in honor of her brother, Michael, who took his life in July of 2016 after struggling with depression and anxiety for many years.
