 Villa Maria Academy's Madeline Ladd is Main Line Student of the Week - September 20, 2020   To read the article on Madeline Ladd click here   A senior at Villa Maria Academy, Ladd is National Honor Society Vice President, Quill & Scroll National Honor Society President, and founder of VMA’s Leaders in Business initiative. She recently did a podcast on the COVID-19 pandemic and schools with Scott Gabriel Knowles, who is the Head of the History Department at Drexel University, and whose work focuses on the history of disaster worldwide. She is Editor-In-Chief of the school newspaper, the Villa Voice, which won third place for best newspaper at the Yale Daily Newspaper Symposium, which she attended last February.  Episcopal Academy's Josephine Buccini is Main Line Student of the Week - September 13, 2020  To read the article on Josephine Buccini click here   A senior at EA, Buccini is the co-founder and president of the Artist Co-op Club, a writer and illustrator for the school newspaper, The Scholium, and has worked on murals on campus. Most recently she worked on a book-inspired mural in the Upper School before school shifted to remote learning in March. She makes and sells handmade jewelry (Jojo’s Jewelry) and donates 100 percent of the proceeds to the Ddx3x Foundation, where she is also a volunteer. A talented artist, Buccini is a Dora Khayatt Award (EA art award) winner. She has interned at the Brandywine River Museum and worked for many years as a camp counselor with neurotypical and developmentally delayed children at a horseback riding camp.  Episcopal Academy's Krissie Essilfie is Main Line Student of the Week - May 24, 2020   To read the article on Krissie Essilfie click here    A junior at Episcopal Academy, Krissie Essilfie was selected to be a prestigious EA 2020 Lilley Fellow. Her fellowship research topic is the effectiveness of international peace support operations in aiding humanitarian crisis, and her case study will focus on the Lake Chad Basin in northeastern Nigeria. Essilfie also is an editor and writer for the school newspaper (The Scholium), a Model UN participant and co-president of the Creative Writing Club. She is a member of the dance team, EA’s cross-country team and has been a key member of the Theater tech crew (lighting design) since her freshman year. During the past few summers, she has been a volunteer teaching assistant for the Horizon’s at EA Summer Program – this six-week program works with students from two Philadelphia schools to stop the so-called summer slide through acade
