He also received the Harvey Medal, presented to a cadet in the 2nd Class who excelled in the area of English, in 2018, as well as the Parents Association Physics Book Award, presented to that cadet who achieved the highest average in the study of physics. Haverford School's Toby Ma is Main Line Student of the Week - March 17, 2019 To read the article on Toby Ma click here A junior, Toby Ma recently was honored by the Scholastic Art Awards with three Gold Keys for his paintings titled “At the Ruins,” “Escape to Reality” and “Nighttime at the Circus.” He also received a Silver Key for his short story, “The Soldier,” as part of the Scholastic Writing Award. Ma won a Gold Key his freshman year at Haverford for a novella he wrote. He is a member of the soft robotics club, Model UN, the speech and debate team, the Pan-Asian Alliance, the math club and the poetry club. He also serves as the managing editor of The Index, Haverford’s student newspaper, and editor for Pegasus, the school’s literary magazine. He has been part of the VEX Robotics teams that have competed at the state level throughout his years at Haverford. Episcopal Academy's Bryce Nabulsi is Main Line Student of the Week - March 10, 2019 To read the article on Bryce Nabulsi click here Bryce Nabulsi, a senior, is the EA student body president, a National Merit semifinalist, an early inductee into the Cum Laude Society and winner of the Yale Book Award and EA’s Memorial Prize in Chemistry. Nabulsi is a talented singer in EA’s select choir and wowed the audience in last year’s production of "Grease" in the role of Frenchie. She participates in Future Business Leaders of America and recently competed in the Model UN conference at the University of Pennsylvania. Nabulsi is an active member in mock trial, is one of the captains for the school’s swimming and diving team, is taking one of the highest level of math courses offered at EA and participated in Penn’s prestigious Management and Technology Summer Institute. Villa Maria Academy's Jade Tortorice is Main Line Student of the Week - February 24, 2019 To read the article on Jade Tortorice click here Jade Tortorice, a senior at Villa Maria, is event coordinator of the student council’s executive council. Last summer, she participated in an internship in the homicide division of the First Judicial District of Philadelphia, which enabled her to sit in on homicide trials, preliminary hearings and probation violation hearings. She was permitted to hear the judge address the jury after conviction but prior to sentencing and was permitted to observe criminal proceedings involving drug possession and related offenses. Tortorice is a member of the Global Sisterhood Club at Villa Maria and is a competitive dancer who trains an average of 30 to 35 hours per week. Tortorice has attended Villa Maria Academy since first grade — her mother is a 1979 Villa Maria grad.

Haverford School's Barrett Spragg is Main Line Student of the Week - February 17, 2019 To read the article on Barrett Spragg click here Spragg, a senior, founded the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter at Haverford. He is one of 10 members at The Haverford School elected to the Signet Society. Spragg, who has attended The Haverford School since pre-kindergarten, has been a tour guide at the school since his freshman year and is a tour guide captain. He plays for the ultimate frisbee team and the ice hockey squad at The Haverford School. Off campus, Spragg volunteers with the Rowan House Tutoring club at Project Home, where he tutors and plays with children at shelters in Philadelphia.
