 Merion Mercy Academy's Maria Dierkes is Main Line Student of the Week - December 27, 2020   To read the article on Maria Dierkes click here     A senior at Merion Mercy who is a member of the National Honor Society, Maria Dierkes is Concert Mistress and one of the leaders for the school’s Ensemble. She is a member of the Handbells Club and the Tri-M Music Honors Society, and she plays the violin for the Delaware County Youth Orchestra. She loves to draw and is a member of the Art Honors Society. She is co-editor of Merion’s Meriannal (school yearbook), and a member of Mathletes, Mock Trial Team and Women for Life and Love Club.

 Episcopal Academy's Dhilan Lavu is Main Line Student of the Week - December 20, 2020   To read the article on Dhilan Lavu click here     A senior at EA, Dhilan Lavu was recently inducted into EA’s Cum Laude Society and received the Brown University Book Award, which is given to the member of the senior class “who best combines academic excellence with clarity in written and spoken expression.” Lavu has also earned accolades in Latin and history at EA. He is the Editor-in-Chief of EA’s school newspaper, Scholium, is on the Mock Trial team, Stock Market Club, World Affairs Club and was selected as a Germination Fellow. He is also a member of Global Youth Leadership Institute. Lavu volunteers with Horizons at EA, and has been involved with COVID-19 grocery deliveries. He is also a member of EA’s varsity tennis team.

 Baldwin School's Anna Wetzel is Main Line Student of the Week - December 13, 2020   To read the article on Anna Wetzel click here     Anna Wetzel, a junior at The Baldwin School, is the sole student representative for the Faculty Environmental Committee at Baldwin and earlier this fall wrote an op-ed for the Philadelphia Inquirer on environmental justice. This year she has focused on the development of the Black and Brown Student Mentorship Program in collaboration with the Student Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, and is in the process of chartering an affinity group for Latin/Hispanic middle schoolers and developing identity-centered curricula for the program. During the past three years, she has interned at a preschool for students with emotional and behavioral challenges living in underserved communities. When on-campus learning was no longer feasible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she offered online lessons and videos for students working from home. Wetzel

 Villa Maria Academy's Grace Willis is Main Line Student of the Week - December 6, 2020   To read the article on Grace Willis click here     Grace Willis, a senior, is Co-President of Villa Maria’s Latin Honors Society, as well as Vice President of the Quill and Scroll National Honors Society. She is an editor of the Villa Maria yearbook, and head of the yearbook’s writing department. Willis also is a member of Villa Maria’s International Student Support (ISS) Club. Outside of Villa Maria, Willis is a volunteer for a nonprofit organization called Adopt A Pig, which raises money for childhood cancer.
