 Baldwin School's Asia Blocker is Main Line Student of the Week - April 25, 2021   To read the article on Asia Blocker click here     A senior at The Baldwin School, Asia Blocker is Senior Class President, and founder and co-head of the Student Diversity Equity and Inclusion (SDEI) program at Baldwin. She is co-head of Baldwin’s Black Student Union, and is involved in Baldwin’s Building Bridges program, an organization that works with student facilitators and the SDEI committee in order to plan a day revolving around diversity and inclusion. Blocker is a member of Lamplighter, Baldwin School’s admissions ambassador program; is captain of the school’s dance team; and plays volleyball for the Polar Bears.

 Agnes Irwin's Sofia Yang is Main Line Student of the Week - April 18, 2021 To read the article on Sofia Yang click here    A senior at Agnes Irwin, Sofia Yang is a Highest Honors student, is taking three Honors STEM courses, and last spring was the winner of the Bryn Mawr Book Award, given to the junior who exhibits “an intense intellectual commitment, has a self-directed and purposeful vision of her life, and has a desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world.” A polyglot and world-traveler, Yang has spent 11 years in Spain, five years in China, and 2.5 years in the United States. She placed in the top 10 at the 2018 North American Spelling Champion Challenge in Riverside, Calif., where she was the only non-native American speaker to place in the top 10.  Haverford School's Josiah Somani is Main Line Student of the Week - April 11, 2021   To read the article on Josiah Somani click here     A junior at The Haverford School, Josiah Somani recently was selected to take part in IBM’s Quantum Computing Course, an 8-month online course. He was one of 5,000 students selected from around the world. Somani is a member of Haverford’s robotics team and, as a member of that team, has been awarded with multiple honors, including the PA State Championship last year and the “Think Award” for the team with the most impressive and effective autonomous programming. He also is a member of the Haverford Materials Group (soft robotics), FOCUS, Hephaestus Society, and serves as a Haverford School Tour Guide.  Academy of Notre Dame's Emma Oyakhire is Main Line Student of the Week - April 4, 2021   To read the article on Emma Oyakhire click here       A junior at Academy of Notre Dame, Emma Oyakhire was one of eight students selected to participate in Notre Dame's inaugural International STEM Symposium in the Design Thinking & Entrepreneurship cohort. She is Vice President of the school's Diversity Club, bringing creative ideas to the group on how to move the school forward in its Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts. Oyakhire recently participated in the NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference, and subsequently offered ideas to school faculty, staff, and administration.
