 Academy of Notre Dame's Eleinna Calderon is Main Line Student of the Week (Nov. 21-27) To read the article on Eleinna Calderon click here A senior at the Academy of Notre Dame, Eleinna Calderon assisted Doctoral students at the University of Pennsylvania last summer with research on the pancreas. She is co-founder of Academy of Notre Dame’s Latin Student Union, which was formed last spring. Calderon was recognized for her performance in the National Spanish Exam sponsored by The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. She is part of the Global Citizen Scholar Program, and has worked as a volunteer with iCan Bike, a weeklong camp that assists youths with disabilities to learn how to ride a bike. She also is a member of Notre Dame’s crew team.

 Merion Mercy Academy's Kathryn Wert is Main Line Student of the Week (Nov. 14-20) To read the article on Kathryn Wert click here     A senior at Merion Mercy Academy, Kathryn Wert is Student Council President and History Club Vice President, as well as a member of the National Honor Society, Rho Kappa (Social Studies Honors Society), Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honors Society) and Latin Honors Society. Wert is the school’s Comedy Club founder and co-president, and a member of the Golden Bear Committee and Varsity Mathletes. She is a Blue Key Ambassador, a captain of the school’s varsity tennis team, and a member of the Merion Mercy track and field team. A Diocesan Scholar, she is taking courses at Saint Joseph’s University this school year.

 Episcopal Academy's Elizabeth Boruff is Main Line Student of the Week (Nov. 7-13) To read the article on Elizabeth Boruff click here   A senior at Episcopal Academy, Elizabeth Boruff is a Lilley Fellowship award recipient studying the viability of e-bikes in urban settings. She is co-president of the Girls in STEM Club, co-president of the Mandarin Club, and co-president of the Key Club. She is the General Manager of EA’s newspaper The Academy Scholium and an editor of the school magazine The Epolitan. She is on the executive board of EA’s Community Service Corps and co-chair of the Mutt Madness project in support of animals. Boruff is vice-president of computer science category within the PJAS (Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science) club, and two-time winner of the NCWIT prize regionally and nationally.  Villa Maria Academy's Miriam Knutson is Main Line Student of the Week (Oct. 31- Nov. 6) To read the article on Miriam Knutson click here     A junior at Villa Maria Academy, Miriam Knutson is a representative for Villa’s Mission and Ministry team, an officer for Villa’s Respect Life Club and the Forensics team, and a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She participates in Villa’s orchestra, the Madrigals voice ensemble, string ensemble and Latin club. Knutson is a founding member of Villa’s Certamen Latin team, is the harpist for the Philadelphia Sinfonia, and most recently, she received an award for best accompanist for Madrigals at the Music in the Parks competition. Several of her poems have gained recognition in various local competitions as well.

 Haverford School's Luka Sekulic is Main Line Student of the Week (Oct. 24-30) To read the article on Luka Sekulic click here   A senior at The Haverford School, Luka Sekulic serves as the 2022-23 Student Body President. He is co-president of Econ and Finance Club and a member of the Interact club, in which he volunteers for community service projects outside of the Haverford community. Off campus, Sekulic is an avid violinist, playing individually for the past ten years. Next fall, Sekulic will attend the United States Naval Academy where he plans to study International Relations. He is a standout swimmer and water polo player who last fall was the 2021 InterAc water polo MVP. Sekulic is a two-time participant for the National Team Selection camp representing the Northeast region of the United States, and as a member of the Haverford School swim team, he was recipient of the McQuillen Trophy, awarded to a member of the Haverford School swim team for the faithful effort
