 Haverford School's Alphonso Evans is Main Line Student of the Week (May 22-28) To read the article on Alphonso Evans click here    A senior, Evans is President of the Notables, an Acapella group that travels internationally, and serves as a soloist, as well as a leader in connecting other school groups, scheduling rehearsals and performances and leading auditions. He was part of a Philadelphia Independence award-winning tap dance ensemble, was nominated best male vocalist for Something Rotten and was nominated for best featured actor in Les Miserables. Evans is a Gospel recording artist and writer, and released his first single, “Hooked,” in 2020. Evans recorded a seven-song album “Not 2 Young” on all streaming platforms.  Villa Maria Academy's Allie Lange is Main Line Student of the Week (May 15-21) To read the article on Allie Lange click here     A junior at Villa Maria Academy, Lange has received awards from the school for her accomplishments in Biology, Algebra II and English II. She is a member of the National Honor Society and The Quill and Scroll Society, and is an active leader in Student Council and is Vice President of Villa Broadcasting. She also is a member of the school’s Paddle Tennis Club, is a member of the costume team at the Malvern Theater Society and has served as an All Ball Camp Counselor.

 Merion Mercy Academy's Jessica Glancey is Main Line Student of the Week (May 8-14) To read the article on Jessica Glancey click here     A junior at Merion Mercy Academy, Jessica Glancey is a member of National Honors Society, Rho Kappa (social studies honor society), Mu Alpha Theta (math honors society) and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish honors society). She also is a member of the school’s Environmental Club, Mercy Mission Corps, Blue Key Society (student ambassadors), Swole Sisters (a morning lifting club) and the varsity crew and basketball teams. She will be a captain of the Merion Mercy varsity basketball team next year.

 Academy of Notre Dame's Ava Barrera is Main Line Student of the Week (May 1-7) To read the article on Ava Barrera click here An active Admissions Ambassador and STEM Scholar, Barrera’s recent science fair project looks at being able to germinate seeds using simulated Mars soil. She won first place and a judges’ award (which included a cash prize) at the regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS), qualifying her for PJAS States in May at Penn State. Barrera also was involved in the design and building of the ROV (remotely operated vehicle) during the SeaPerch Challenge. During the day of the competition, Barrera impressed the judges with her ability to maneuver the ROV through the underwater hoop obstacle course in one of the shortest times of the day. With 15 minutes allotted for teams, Barrera completed the course in 2:03 minutes and her team received several awards, including the Women in Defense Liberty Chapter 2023 SeaPerch Challenge Award, given to a t
