 Baldwin School's Lauren Halak is Main Line Student of the Week (Dec. 12-18)  To read the article on Lauren Halak click here     Lauren Halak, a junior at The Baldwin School, is class president and is a member of BLAST (Building Leadership And Supporting Teams), Enviro Club, Lamplighters (Baldwin Admissions Tour Guide), Cradles to Crayons and KIVA (service club). She also volunteers as a peer tutor in the school’s Writing Center, runs cross country and plays lacrosse for the Polar Bears and is a gymnast.

 Shipley's Emma Portnoy is Main Line Student of the Week (Dec. 5-11) To read the article on Emma Portnoy click here      A senior at The Shipley School, Emma Portnoy was unanimously awarded the Harvard University Prize by Shipley’s Upper School faculty for “the outstanding junior demonstrating excellence in scholarship and achievement in other fields — school spirit, ability, and influence.” She has spent the past three summers taking courses at the New York Times Summer School, Harvard University, Columbia University, and Cambridge University. Throughout the year, Portnoy can be found both on stage and behind the scenes of Shipley’s Wolf Performing Arts Center (WolfPAC), where she has served in many roles, including actor, stage manager and director. She is Service Committee Co-President, and has served as Service Grade Leader for three years. She also plays volleyball for Shipley, and has been a leader of many service offerings, including Super Saturday, Thanksgiving

 Villa Maria Academy;s Madeline Kiester is Main Line Student of the Week (Nov. 29-Dec. 4) To read the article on Madeline Kiester click here     A senior at Villa Maria Academy, Madeline Kiester is co-leader of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Club, Mission and Ministry Club, Integrity Club and Spanish Club. She is a member of National Honor Society, Mathematics Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society. She received the Harvard Book Award from Villa, for her high academic achievements during her junior year. Kiester is the recipient of the Art Scholarship and Charism Scholarship for Villa Maria’s Class of 2023. She is a co-captain of the Villa Maria cross country and crew teams, and was part of the lightweight four that placed third at Nationals last year. She also is an accomplished horseback rider.
