Shipley's Peyton Turner is Main Line Student of the Week - June 6, 2021 To read the article on Peyton Turner click here The junior is co-President of the DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) committee at Shipley, is a leader with the school’s Black Student Union, and is a member of the youth advisory board with The Impact Center. She has served more than 100 hours of community service, including at the Jane Addams Place shelter. Turner plays cello for the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, plays in the Ann Newmann string quartet for Settlement Music School’s Advanced Chamber Ensemble, and takes lessons from Gloria dePasquale, a cellist in the Philadelphia Orchestra. Turner is a Junior Deacon at the Bethlehem Baptist Church and plays field hockey and lacrosse for Shipley.
