 Haverford School's Cyril Leahy is Main Line Student of the Week - October 25, 2020   To read the article on Cyril Leahy click here    Cyril Leahy, a senior, is The Haverford School’s Student Body President for the 2020-21 school year. He serves as the co-president of the School’s acapella group, The Notables, and is a co-leader of the campus Tour Guides. He serves in a leadership position (co-leader) of the student-led Peer Counseling and is a senior leader of the Speech and Debate Team. He is a member of the school’s Cum Laude Society, and in 9th grade received the Robert C. Rugg Memorial Prize, which is a science award. He also plays varsity golf for Haverford School.

 Shipley's Brooke McCarthy is Main Line Student of the Week - October 18, 2020   To read the article on Brooke McCarthy click here    A senior, Brooke McCarthy is a ballet dancer extraordinaire. In her junior year, she was part of the National Security Language Initiative for Youth, a scholarship program funded by the State Department that involves intensive ballet and Russian language training through the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. As a rising sophomore, she participated in the Ellison Ballet Summer Intensive, and as a rising freshman she was part of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive, which involved ballet technique, classical repertoire, character dance and partnering. She is a Head Editor of Shipley’s student newspaper Beacon and is a self-taught baker who during quarantine baked a large number of goods for a non-profit organization that donated them to food-insecure in the Philadelphia region.

 Merion Mercy Academy's Tess Szathmary is Main Line Student of the Week - October 11, 2020   To read the article on Tess Szathmary click here    A senior, Tess Szathmary is Student Council Vice President, a leader on the school’s Community Service Corps, a member of Good Morning Merion (the school’s morning broadcast show), a captain of MMA’s cross country team and track team, and she plays the handbells for Merion Mercy. Outside of MMA, she has participated in dance competitions since she was 8 years old, and is a member of Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars (a show choir).

 Malvern Prep's Sean McCarthy is Main Line Student of the Week - October 4, 2020   To read the article on Sean McCarthy click here    A senior, Sean McCarthy founded two clubs at Malvern Prep - the Environmental Club and the HeForShe Club. A member of the school’s Diversity Awareness Club, McCarthy is also involved with st@MP (Speaking Truth at Malvern Prep) – Malvern Prep’s annual student-led Diversity Conference that is created and hosted by members of the Diversity Club - and participated in the Student Diversity Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn. As a junior, he worked on the school’s literary magazine Impressions and participated in the Chester County Student Forum. He is currently participating in a fellowship program with the Biden campaign, and has assisted in local election campaigns.
