Haverford School's Josiah Somani is Main Line Student of the Week - April 11, 2021

A junior at The Haverford School, Josiah Somani recently was selected to take part in IBM’s Quantum Computing Course, an 8-month online course. He was one of 5,000 students selected from around the world. Somani is a member of Haverford’s robotics team and, as a member of that team, has been awarded with multiple honors, including the PA State Championship last year and the “Think Award” for the team with the most impressive and effective autonomous programming. He also is a member of the Haverford Materials Group (soft robotics), FOCUS, Hephaestus Society, and serves as a Haverford School Tour Guide. Somani is an intern at the University of Pennsylvania Radiology Lab with Dr. Chamith Rajapaske, where he supports the development of new imaging software. He is also a Campus Ambassador for PennApps, the oldest college hackathon held at University of Pennsylvania each year.
