A senior at The Grayson School, Tani Nevins-Klein is the recipient of dual Grayson Departmental Math and Computer Science awards. He designed and executed a month-long experiment measuring the efficacy of various visible-light spectroscopic techniques on the Balmer series of hydrogen; he successfully self-studied the Calculus curriculum, completing both sections in one year, tackled undergraduate level math work in linear algebra and analysis sophomore year, and he created LaTTe, a programming language based on Markdown to make taking digital math notes easier. To deal with software bugs appearing in the school’s VEX Team’s robotics competitions, he designed a tool from scratch to simulate the software behavior of the robot “brain.” He was recently named a 2025 Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Tani Nevins-Klein is a key member of Grayson’s Chamber Jazz Ensemble and is president of the Grayson chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
