 Valley Forge Military Academy’s Nicholas Wu is Main Line Student of the Week (May 20-26) To read the article on Nicholas Wu click here A sophomore at VFMA, Nicholas Wu has been awarded the Harvey Medal in the subjects of Science, English, and French; was awarded the Major General Anthony Wayne medal for being the 8th grade valedictorian; and was awarded the Dean’s Medal two years in a row for achieving Gold Star Honor Roll status every marking period in a school year. He is a member of Valley Forge Military Academy’s National Honor Society and Hi-Q team, and made his VFMA Theatre debut this spring as Mr. Mushnick in Little Shop of Horrors. Wu is also a member of the school’s Community Service Club, Rifle Club, Drill Team, varsity soccer squad and varsity swimming team.

 Episcopal Academy’s Clarissa Leung is Main Line Student of the Week (May 13-19) To read the article on Clarissa Leung click here A junior at Episcopal Academy, Clarissa Leung recently was selected to have her poem “Lobster 5 Ways” published by the prestigious poetry journal Poetry South, an international journal published annually by Creative Writing at Mississippi University for Women. Leung is a member of the school’s Mandarin Club, was a member of EA’s former female acapella group Bella Voce, has played the piano at Carnegie Hall and is a seven-time winner at the Golden Key Music Festival. She recently won two silver keys for her poetry, is a past winner of Episcopal Academy’s Kenneth R. Balsley Prize for highest scholarship in the rising IV Form, received the George T. Davis Prize for highest scholarship in the rising V Form, and was awarded the Jarvis Meirs Memorial Prize for excellence in biology.  Villa Maria Academy’s Caroline Naughton is Main Line Student of the Week (May 6-12) To read the article on Caroline Naughton click here A junior at Villa Maria Academy, Caroline Naughton is an exceptionally talented artist and student who was nominated to attend the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference. She created the school’s Textile Club, is an IHM Charism Scholar and Art Scholar, is editor-in-chief of the school’s newspaper, Villa Voice, and its literary magazine, and is Vice President and set designer of Marian Masques, a theater group. She also is a member of the Quill and Scroll Honor Society, Student Council, Forensics Debate Team and Student Integrity Club, and is a Student Ambassador.

 Academy of Notre Dame’s Ava DiGiuseppe is Main Line Student of the Week (April 29-May 5) To read the article on Ava DiGiuseppe click here A junior at Academy of Notre Dame, Ava DiGiuseppe recently represented her school the Regional Shakespeare Contest in Philadelphia, and is a dual Arts and Global Citizen Scholar and a member of Model UN and Hi-Q. She participated in National History Day, and is on the staff of both the school’s literary magazine and the student newspaper. Last spring, she submitted a poem inspired by Catullus’ Carmen 8 to the literary magazine that was selected for a magna cum laude designation at the Philadelphia Classical Society’s Annual Latin Week Competition. DiGiuseppe sings with the Peabody Institute’s Vocal Performance Academy, participated in the Boston Conservatory’s Vocal/Choral Intensive, and was invited to Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute this summer.  Haverford School's Jackson Raleigh is Main Line Student of the Week (April 22-28) To read the article on Jackson Raleigh click here A senior at The Haverford School, Jackson Raleigh was elected to the school’s Honor Council and Signet Society and has been inducted into the school’s Cum Laude Society and Hephaestus Society. He won the “Class and School Spirit Award” given to the student in each class who best represents the ideals of citizenship, leadership and service. Raleigh has appeared in a number of roles in Haverford School’s musical and theater productions, is a member of Model United Nations and Peer Counseling and is a Haverford School Tour Guide. He is a multi-sport athlete at Haverford School, playing soccer and lacrosse.

 Friends' Central School Rita Tang is Main Line Student of the Week (April 15-21) To read the article on Rita Tang click here A junior at Friends’ Central, Rita Tang is from Chengdu, China. Tang was one of two FCS Upper School students who recently qualified to take the American Invitational Math Exam (AIME) based on their performance on the American Math Contest-12, a three-hour test that will determine the nationwide ranking of the two students. She is currently working on a science project involving DNA barcoding of native bees on Friends’ Central’s City Avenue campus and wild bees from Maine. Most recently, she has identified (together with FCS sophomore Yaya Guo) two longhorn bees, and her DNA sequences have been included in the International Barcode of Life (BOLD) database as reference sequences. Her efforts are helping Friends’ Central to have a clearer understanding of which bee and moth species are present on their campus and which species can be found at th...

 Merion Mercy Academy’s Sarah D’Alessandro is Main Line Student of the Week (April 8-14) To read the article on Sarah D'Alessandro click here A junior at Merion Mercy, Sarah D’Alessandro is a leader with the Mercy Mission Corps and is part of the Diversity Leadership Team. She is a member of National Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, National Latin Honor Society, Student Council, Mathletes, Blue Key Society, Diploma with Distinction, Ministry, Liturgical Choir, Orchestra and Merion Mercy Music Theater. She also belongs to the Ukulele Club and plays cello and piano.

 Valley Forge Military Academy’s Benjamin Ramasute is Main Line Student of the Week (April 1-7) To read the article on Benjamin Ramasute click here A junior at Valley Forge Military Academy, Benjamin Ramasute earned the Dean’s Medal for achieving Gold Star Honor Roll during all four marking periods of the 2022-23 school year. He also is a member of the school’s Community Service Club, National Honor Society and Multicultural Club. Ramasute is participating in this year’s PA Science Fair and will be attending Boys State Leadership Program in the summer. He is a multisport athlete at VFMA (cross country, swimming).
