A senior at The Grayson School, Dash Menschik is a founding member of the school’s rapidly-expanding VEX Robotics program, and led his team to the semifinals of their most recent tournament in January. His team also has made consecutive appearances at the VEX Pennsylvania State Championship during the past two years. He is one of the founding member of Grayson’s Middle School Mentoring program. Menschik has participated in the Nanoengineering at Engineering Summer at Penn (ESAP) program as well as video game design and creation at Carnegie Mellon University’s National High School Video Game Academy summer program, where he collaborated with a team to create a roguelike, platformer, mobile video game -- set in a dystopian future, players navigate a building, defeat enemies, and gain powers to attempt to overthrow a cybermafia boss. He has participated in various volunteer activities, and recently responded to a neighbor’s health crisis by running her sole proprietorship dog daycare business entirely on his own for several weeks.
