 The Merion Mercy Academy senior participated in the 2019 KYW Newstudies program, and wrote her own news story which aired on KYW on Dec. 1, 2019. As a result of her story, she was awarded a Richard Monetti Scholarship, given to the student who shows the most promise to encourage them to continue in the field. A Diocesan Scholar and National Merit Semifinalist, Del Pizzo is a Distinguished Honors student and has received honorable recognition in the National French Contest two years in a row. She is a member of the National Honors Society, Math Honors Society, French Honors Society, Tri-M Music Honors Society and Rho Kappa. Del Pizzo is co-president of Sirens of Baggot Street and has participated in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards leadership program. She also participates in Merion Mercy Music Theater, Ricordia (Merion Mercy’s online student newspaper), Chorale, Student Council and Girl Up.

Villa Maria Academy's Anna Rago is Main Line Student of the Week - Oct. 7, 2018 To read the article on Anna Rago click here The Villa Maria Academy junior received Outstanding Achievement Awards in both science and math (algebra) and was recently nominated for the Liberty Museum and TD Bank’s Young Heroes Award. In college, she wants to study urban planning and nonprofit management with a focus on international urban planning and has taken an online class with a college in Singapore called Future Cities. Last summer, she traveled to Malawi, Africa (the third-poorest country in the world), for 18 days to work with Pamoza International, whose mission is to unite people in alleviating suffering and despair through Christian outreach and sustainable community development in the areas of education, entrepreneurship, agriculture and health. Rago has organized several fundraisers at Villa Maria for Pamoza International.

 Agnes Irwin's Caroline "Cookie" Quirk is Main Line Student of the Week (Nov. 6-12) To read the article on Cookie Quirk click here     A senior at Agnes Irwin School, Caroline “Cookie” Quirk is a National Merit Commended Scholar, and recently published an article in the Princeton Legal Journal titled “The High Stakes of Deepfakes: The Growing Necessity of Federal Legislation to Regulate this Rapidly Evolving Technology.” Quirk also serves on the school’s Discipline Committee, is a Student Tour Guide, and serves as a co-head of Mathletes as well as the Debate Club and the STEM Club. She is a writing center tutor, a member of Honor Council, and Digital Editor of the Wick, the school newspaper. She plays for Agnes Irwin’s squash team in the winter and rows crew in the spring.
