A junior at EA, Molly Limaye recently won an award for her research in computer science by the National Center for Women and Information Technology. Her research focused on artificial intelligence to help dementia patients - she was inspired by her grandfather who suffered from dementia. She works with EA Lower and Middle School students to teach them coding, and teaches computer science to students who participate in EA’s Horizons program over the summer, using PencilCode and Java. Limaye is a writer and editor for the school paper, The Scholium, and has spent the last two summers taking part in the New York Times Student Journey program. Limaye is a Germination Project Fellow and created and ran a Middle School Prep Course for rising 6th graders at EA last summer, a course that she has been asked to run again this summer. She is also an accomplished distance runner, earning varsity letters in cross country, and winter and spring track.
