Malvern Prep's Brendan Taylor is Main Line Student of the Week - June 2, 2019

A junior at Malvern Prep, Brendan Taylor is a member of the Science National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Social Studies National Honor Society. Through the Social Studies National Honor Society, Taylor is working on a project that deals with the history of educational reform and the way in which reform has been integrated into the teaching methods at Malvern Prep. Through his Social Entrepreneurship Class, he is part of a peer mentoring program designed to connect Upper School Students with students from the Middle School. Taylor is a member of Student Council, SpeakUp! and the Stock Market Club. He also is a member of the Malvern Prep baseball team and recently threw a no-hitter against Penncrest. Taylor comes from a Malvern Prep family - his father and two brothers also attended the school.

Villa Maria Academy's Anna Rago is Main Line Student of the Week - Oct. 7, 2018 To read the article on Anna Rago click here The Villa Maria Academy junior received Outstanding Achievement Awards in both science and math (algebra) and was recently nominated for the Liberty Museum and TD Bank’s Young Heroes Award. In college, she wants to study urban planning and nonprofit management with a focus on international urban planning and has taken an online class with a college in Singapore called Future Cities. Last summer, she traveled to Malawi, Africa (the third-poorest country in the world), for 18 days to work with Pamoza International, whose mission is to unite people in alleviating suffering and despair through Christian outreach and sustainable community development in the areas of education, entrepreneurship, agriculture and health. Rago has organized several fundraisers at Villa Maria for Pamoza International.

 Agnes Irwin's Caroline "Cookie" Quirk is Main Line Student of the Week (Nov. 6-12) To read the article on Cookie Quirk click here     A senior at Agnes Irwin School, Caroline “Cookie” Quirk is a National Merit Commended Scholar, and recently published an article in the Princeton Legal Journal titled “The High Stakes of Deepfakes: The Growing Necessity of Federal Legislation to Regulate this Rapidly Evolving Technology.” Quirk also serves on the school’s Discipline Committee, is a Student Tour Guide, and serves as a co-head of Mathletes as well as the Debate Club and the STEM Club. She is a writing center tutor, a member of Honor Council, and Digital Editor of the Wick, the school newspaper. She plays for Agnes Irwin’s squash team in the winter and rows crew in the spring.
