Haverford School's Sebastian Bilash is Main Line Student of the Week - Sept. 22, 2019

A senior, Sebastian Bilash is a World Science Scholar, one of only 45 scholars selected from a worldwide applicant pool. As a member, he participates in lectures and sessions (hosted online) by leading scientists and mathematicians, and is doing his own self-study project. At The Haverford School, Bilash is part of the cross-country and track teams. He’s also a founding member of the Thorns and Noble Book Club, which provided students to discuss high-level books with teachers during a lunch period. Bilash is also a volunteer at The Grayson School, where he works as a lead instructor for their Computer Engineering Classes in the summer. Bilash was named a Davidson Institute Young Scholar in 2011, which recognizes gifted young scholars around the country. He also received the Grand Recognition Medal from the Duke TIP Talent Search Program, which was awarded to seventh graders who scored greater or equal to 680 on SAT Math, and greater or equal to 670 on SAT reading and writing exams. He is a PADI certified open water diver (2017) and is certified by the American Red Cross in lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED.
