Valley Forge Military Academy's Rye Ahronson is Main Line Student of the Week - March 24, 2019

A senior, Ahronson is the recipient of the Arnovitz Medal, presented to the cadet who authored the best piece of creative writing during the 2018 academic year (Ahronson’s topic was a Bermuda hurricane).
He also received the Harvey Medal, presented to a cadet in the 2nd Class who excelled in the area of English, in 2018, as well as the Parents Association Physics Book Award, presented to that cadet who achieved the highest average in the study of physics.
He is a two-time recipient of the Head of School Medal, awarded to a cadet who has earned Gold Star Honor Roll for all four marking periods during a school year. The Gold Star Honor Roll is for those students who achieved a general academic average of at least 93 percent with no subject less than 80 percent.
In 2017, Ahronson received the Harvey Medal for the cadet in the 3rd Class who excels in the area of mathematics, and the Parents Association Biology Book Award for the cadet who achieved the highest average in the study of biology.
He has been appointed his school’s National Honor Society president and the captain of the varsity basketball team this year. In addition, he was named first-team All-League this year and honorable mention last year.
