Haverford School's Toby Ma is Main Line Student of the Week - March 17, 2019

A junior, Toby Ma recently was honored by the Scholastic Art Awards with three Gold Keys for his paintings titled “At the Ruins,” “Escape to Reality” and “Nighttime at the Circus.” He also received a Silver Key for his short story, “The Soldier,” as part of the Scholastic Writing Award. Ma won a Gold Key his freshman year at Haverford for a novella he wrote.
He is a member of the soft robotics club, Model UN, the speech and debate team, the Pan-Asian Alliance, the math club and the poetry club. He also serves as the managing editor of The Index, Haverford’s student newspaper, and editor for Pegasus, the school’s literary magazine. He has been part of the VEX Robotics teams that have competed at the state level throughout his years at Haverford.
Ma was inducted into the Hephaestus Society, which honors those who have a strong commitment to intellectual life of The Haverford School through participation in clubs and activities.
