A senior at The Grayson School, Miles Hong spoke at the AAPI History rally at the state capitol in Harrisburg in May, advocating for HB 779 / SB 839. This legislation aims to incorporate AAPI history in all Pennsylvania schools, making a significant step toward educational equity with accurate information about Asian American & Pacific Islander history and culture. He actively volunteers with NGO Make Us Visible Pennsylvania along with his family to support this important cause. Hong earned a score of 4 on the AP Calc BC exam after learning integrals over the summer and is currently studying Multivariable Calculus.

Agnes Irwin School's Sarah Gruber is Main Line Student of the Week - May 19, 2019 To read the article on Sarah Gruber click here A senior, Gruber took Computer Science II last year and as a capstone project, created a custom app to advertise service opportunities and track student service hours (a set number of service hours are an AIS graduation requirement). Gruber has co-headed the Worlds Affairs Council, based in Philadelphia and similar to the Model United Nations program, in both 11th and 12th grade. Gruber serves on the executive board of the Council for the Advancement of Girls, the student-led branch of AIS’s Center for the Advancement of Girls; is a member of Agnes Irwin’s Jewish Student Union; co-leads Agnes Irwin’s service board; and contributes to Frenish, Agnes Irwin’s student-run Spanish and French language publication.

 Valley Forge Military Academy’s Nicholas Wu is Main Line Student of the Week (May 20-26) To read the article on Nicholas Wu click here A sophomore at VFMA, Nicholas Wu has been awarded the Harvey Medal in the subjects of Science, English, and French; was awarded the Major General Anthony Wayne medal for being the 8th grade valedictorian; and was awarded the Dean’s Medal two years in a row for achieving Gold Star Honor Roll status every marking period in a school year. He is a member of Valley Forge Military Academy’s National Honor Society and Hi-Q team, and made his VFMA Theatre debut this spring as Mr. Mushnick in Little Shop of Horrors. Wu is also a member of the school’s Community Service Club, Rifle Club, Drill Team, varsity soccer squad and varsity swimming team.
