Sacred Heart's Carina Fichera is Main Line Student of the Week - April 7, 2019

A junior at Sacred Heart Academy, Carina Fichera was recently
selected to receive the Widener University High School Leadership Award.
As a recipient, she will receive a $20,000 scholarship to Widener
University over four years and will be named an Apogee Scholar should
she enroll at Widener and participate in the Oskin Leadership Institute
after her graduation from SHA.
Fichera is the vice president of the junior class and a student ambassador with the admissions office at Sacred Heart Academy. She takes Advanced Placement and honors courses at Sacred Heart Academy, is a member of the school newspaper, the SHA Community Service Club and played on the District 1 2A basketball team this winter. She was recently involved in the spring musical with a prominent singing part.
“Carina lights up a room; her energy and positivity follow her everywhere," Fichera’s former English teacher, Eileen Day, said. "I welcomed her contributions; they were amusing and insightful. Everyone knows Carina, everyone hears Carina and everyone loves Carina. She is also a devoted older sister and close with her family. She embodies what we strive for from our girls here at SHA.”
“In the ethics classroom, Carina’s sense of humor, her academic integrity and intelligence provided three key ingredients that made our classroom community a loving and fecund place to learn," Dr. Morey Williams, Fichera’s former ethics teacher, said. "Each day, Carina brought her wit, warmth and intellectual prowess into the classroom.”
